WHAT IS THE PROVISIONER STATE INVITATIONAL?
Regular tournaments are boring!
In a normal tournament, if you have a bad game, you are done on the first day. At the PSI, you get to compete against the same team multiple times to try and advance. We start with a best-of-3 and advance to a best-of-5. Only overtime will settle a game - no ties.
At the PSI, it is about the hockey, not the hotel pool.
Apply to Get In—only 6 Teams in Year One.
The PSI runs from March 1st to no later than March 18th (it will probably wrap sooner). Have a state tournament? No worries. We’ll work with you.
Teams are selected from the pool that applies, and a schedule is developed with your team manager for round one.
The cost is the same as a traditional tournament.
You and Your Teammates Will Need To Earn the Best Trophy in Connecticut Youth Sports
Best of 3 & 5 Series
Best of 3’s to get to the finals. And the final is a best of 5. To win the PSI, you and your teammates will need to earn it.
Overtime Games
No tie games! Games will go into sudden-death overtime. No shootouts. No weird 3v3. Again, to win it, you need to earn it.
